INSPIRE: Seven Strategies for Ending Violence Against Children

Up to one billion children in the world are estimated to have experienced physical, sexual, or psychological violence in the past year. INSPIRE is a technical package for those committed to preventing and responding to violence against children and adolescents. The package is available in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

The INSPIRE package includes seven strategies that together provide a framework for ending violence against children. Each strategy is presented with its objective, rationale, potential effects, specific approaches, and evidence of effectiveness. Additionally, INSPIRE includes cross-cutting activities that help connect, strengthen, and assess progress towards the seven strategies: 1) Implementation and enforcement of laws; 2) Norms and values; 3) Safe environments; 4) Parent and caregiver support; 5) Income and economic strengthening; 6) Response and support services; and 7) Education and life skills.
